# Installation

> Install Robot Vacuum Map through HACS.

It needs Home Assistant 2026.3 or later, and [HACS](https://hacs.xyz/).

**1. Add the repository to HACS**

Open the repository in your Home Assistant's HACS:

[![Open your Home Assistant instance and open this repository in HACS.](https://my.home-assistant.io/badges/hacs_repository.svg)](https://my.home-assistant.io/redirect/hacs_repository/?owner=kanso-labs\&repository=home-assistant-robot-vacuum-map\&category=integration)

Or add it by hand, from **HACS → ⋮ → Custom repositories**, as an **Integration**:

```text theme={null}
https://github.com/kanso-labs/home-assistant-robot-vacuum-map
```

**2. Download it**

Download **Robot Vacuum Map** from HACS. HACS installs the newest release and offers each later one as an update.

**3. Restart Home Assistant**

The integration loads only after a restart.

**4. Add the integration**

Continue with [Configuration](/home-assistant/robot-vacuum-map/configuration.md).

> [!NOTE]
>
> It can sit beside upstream's Xiaomi Cloud Map Extractor, since the two have different domains. Each draws its own map, and each asks Xiaomi's cloud for it.
